How it Began: Hope For All

Our Namesake: About Kirsten

Our residential sober living program was a vision laid upon the heart of our Director, Susan Conner. Susan has been active in sponsoring, leading Bible and Christian music studies, and supporting women in recovery in many ways, including some (like Kirsten) in her home. While having a place for women to go to upon completion of their program was still just a dream, Susan met Kirsten Jane Flint, a beautiful soul with a love for God but struggling with addiction. Kirsten went on to graduate from a long-term program, but once out found herself overwhelmed with fitting back into society. Soon after Susan received the tragic news that Kirsten had passed from an overdose, and along with her, her unborn son Kalen.

It was then that Susan knew it was time to move forward with what God had called her to do – create a safe, structured, and supportive environment for women like Kirsten to transition back into society.

Although hearts were broken with the loss of Kirsten and Kalen, their names and memory live on with our desire to help women in recovery, one by one.
